Phillies Parade

Here are some pictures of what we SHOULD have been watching on Friday at the Phillies parade

All of the player going by on big floats. Confetti being thrown all around! Everyone waving, clapping and enjoying themselves...

But as you can see by the below picture.. there were close to 3 million people that showed up!!! (these first three pictures were not taken by me, they were borrowed from the newspaper!

This was our view. This picture was taken by Marissa who was sitting on Alan's shoulders (he is about 6'5) holding the camera up over her head as high as she could and just snapping radom pictures!

The morning started out with all of us getting ready to catch the train to the city to line up for the parade. We decided to try to leave around 9:30, catch the train and be in Philly around 10:30 since the parade didn't start til noon. All of the news stations the night before were warning that you shouldn't try to drive down because of all of the traffic and it would be a much safer to use public transportation, which we foolishly listened to!!! Ed's friend Rob who was supposed to go down with us call a little after 9 to let us know that he had tried to take the train at the stop before us and that all of the tickets were sold out, which meant that by the time the train got to our little town it didn't even bother to stop! There was no room on the train and all of the tickets were sold out until the noon train.

We decided to try a whole different place to go and get the train. We drove about 1/2 hour from here and stood in a VERY VERY long line, caught the train and got to Philly just before noon to a spot that was about 6 block from where the parade was going to start... PERFECT!!...

Alexis and Jackson just listening to the crowd go crazy as the floats passed by!

Except for the fact that there were at least 1/2 a million other people in that very same location!! So needless to say we saw absolutely NOTHING!!! But it was an experience, possibly a once in a lifetime experience so I'm glad we decided to go!!!
